About Us
NKA UFORO IBAN is a 501- (C)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia, The Association was founded in 2003 by a group of women dedicated to giving back by raising funds and awareness for women and children health issues in the United States and Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
We are an organization of women and citizens of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria in the Washington Metropolitan Area, dedicated to promoting unity, progress and strength of our state within the framework of a United Nigeria, and convinced that Akwa Ibom State has a major role to play in the development of Nigeria.
Who We Are
Our members are indigenes of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria (by birth of either parent, adoption, marriage or naturalization, who have come together to support select organizations that provide services and support to disadvantaged women in the USA and Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria through charitable donations and services. Our organization also promotes an atmosphere of understanding, unity, peace and cooperation among members.

Our Mission
SUPPORT
Support select organizations that provide services to disadvantaged women and children in the USA and Akwa Ibom State Nigeria
COOPERATE
Cooperate with and support other associations in the Americas for promotion of Akwa Ibom Women Interests.
PROMOTE
Promote the cultural economical, educational, social and recreational forum where Akwa Ibom State Women and citizens meet to exchange ideas, home news and view, current international and local affairs.

We, the women and citizens of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria in the Washington Metropolitan Area, aware of our responsibilities, dedicated to promoting the unity, progress and strength of our state within the framework of a united Nigeria, and convinced that Akwa Ibom State has a major role to play in the development of Nigeria.

Our Organization, (Nka Uforo Iban Akwa Ibom State, USA Inc.), of the Washington, DC metropolitan area contributes to organizations that advocate for the health and welfare of disadvantaged women and children in the United States and the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
Below are a few of the organizations we have assisted with donations to support their charitable work for disadvantaged women and children. We have provided monetary donations to organizations including
- St. Ann’s Infant and Maternity home in Hyattsville Maryland
- The House of Ruth in Washington, DC.
Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) Life Center in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
HIV / AIDS (in collaboration with local partner-group), Uyo Akwa Ibom State Nigeria
- And support services to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina
